Sketched this espresso cup in a Barnes and Noble Starbucks in Springfield Illinois on December 22 or 23, 2002 (these were the busiest shopping days of the year for this store, so it was very crowded). Liked that it was so close-up to the subject that it made the abstract-looking features look better, so in 2019 I decided to add watercolor, choosing blue and green to keep it interesting.
10 x 7 inches, watercolor pencils on printed copy of ballpoint pen original, 2019. Print is a matted, mounted, signed 600 dpi color print on white acid-free cardstock with half-inch borders. Limited print run of fifty. I only use lightfast, pigment-based HP ink, which meets the ISO 11798 standard.
