March Flowers

10 x 14.5 inches, dipping pen with 102 nib, from 2018. Print is a matted, mounted, signed 600 dpi print on white acid-free cardstock with half-inch borders, in a limited edition run of fifty.  I only use permanent, pigment-based HP inks which meet the ISO 11798 fade-resistance standard.

Took the picture of these flowers poking out of the leaves.  These and the crocuses were the only flowers around, so they really stood out.  Took about two weeks to draw a pencil contour study, and about four hours to ink it in.  Was surprised by the oak leaf in the foreground.
